Eskom condemns assaults on workers, autos – SABC Information

Eskom says it fears for the security of its workers following two violent incidents involving its autos within the Western Cape. Each drivers of the autos escaped unhurt.

The primary car was stoned and set alight by protestors in Khayelitsha and the second car was stoned within the Bardale space in Mfuleni.

Eskom has since launched an announcement condemning the incidents that are allegedly attributed to the latest spike in land invasions within the province.

“Eskom strongly condemns the harassment of its workers who’re merely finishing up their duties. We have now taken the choice to withdraw all Eskom providers to components of Khayelitsha and the whole Bardale space in Mfuleni.”
acknowledged Alwie Lester, Common Supervisor for Distribution, Western Cape.

“Sadly buyer faults won’t be attended to till these areas are declared secure for Eskom to return,” reads the assertion.
