In acknowledgment of the remarkable potential of women in the sciences, the MPOWER Women in STEM Scholarship program was established to empower high-potential international citizens to accomplish their educational aspirations — and become tomorrow’s foremost scientists and innovators.
This scholarship award program will concentrate on women who will make use of their STEM degrees to help society and the planet and who have the prospect to serve as role models and supporters for women in STEM.

Eligibility for Scholarship Program for Women in STEM
To be eligible, applicants must;
- Be accepted at, or enrolled in, a full-time degree program at the U.S. or Canadian school that MPOWER supports, and
- Be a foreign student permitted to legally study in the U.S. or Canada, as appropriate:
- For study in the U.S., this means that the applicant meets one of these criteria:
- Possess a valid visa that allows study in the U.S. or
- Is covered under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) , or
- Is a U.S. permanent resident (Green Card holder).

How to Apply for Scholarship Program for Women in STEM
MPOWER will select winners based on:
- The quality of the applicant’s written essays; the essays should demonstrate clarity of thought, compelling goals and vision, and superior writing skills in English;
- The candidate’s record of academic and (if applicable) professional excellence;
- The candidate’s ability to make significant impacts in a STEM field that will help people and/or the planet; and
- The applicant’s track record and/or potential as a role model and advocate for women and girls in STEM.
Following MPOWER’s selection of winners, MPOWER will verify their eligibility. Following such certification, all selected applicants will be sent a Release. Following MPOWER’s receipt of a candidate’s executed Release, MPOWER will pay the funds directly to the candidate’s college/university, dependent on the requirements of any applicable U.S. or Canadian laws. In the event that a winner cannot be verified, or fails or refuses to execute the Release, such person becomes ineligible for the scholarship and MPOWER will select a replacement winner.
