The University of Manitoba is announcing the International Undergraduate Student Bursary, for foreign students with excellent academic standing, and with proven financial need, who are undergoing Bachelor’s degree programs in both the fall and winter terms.

The total amount of scholarships available each year is $240,000, which will be divided equally among the scholarship recipients.

Eligibility for International Undergraduate Student Bursary at University of Manitoba

All candidates have to complete courses in both the fall and winter terms to be qualified. In most cases, candidates have to register for and complete a minimum of 60 percent of a full course load per term (i.e., a minimum of 9 credit hours each term). Graduate candidates do not have to abide by credit hour minimums given that they are enrolled as full-time students over the fall and winter terms with the Faculty of Graduate Studies.

Applicants must meet minimum G.P.A. requirements. Continuing students must have a minimum degree G.P.A. of 2.0. New students (from high school) are required to possess a grade 12 average of 70% or higher. Candidates admitted on Mature Student Status may also be qualified for bursary consideration. Foreign students in their first year of post-secondary education in Canada are not qualified to apply to the general bursary program.

How to Apply for International Undergraduate Student Bursary at University of Manitoba

A financial need has to be clearly stated on the application. Candidates who have applied for government student loans from other regions are required to provide a copy of a current official government loan assessment to back their declaration of financial need. The University of Manitoba General Bursary Application is open from the start of August every year to 1 October.
